Internationalization is at the heart of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).
Internationalization is a difficult concept to define. From its inception, Beijing Foreign Studies University has entwined the development of China with the university’s mission. As China and global cultures embrace their rapidly expanding relationships, BFSU continues to play a significant and dynamic role in the process.

First, we commit ourselves to the exploration of international education as a leading concept of our endeavors. Through our explorations, BFSU International provides aims to provide our understandings of “what”, “why” and “how”. BFSU International conceptualize ideas, sets standard, builds system and leads future growth of international education.
Second, we commit ourselves to visible actions. This is reflected in the design and implementation of our academic and management policies utilizing international standards, our talent cultivation through a curriculum focusing on “international competence”, and evaluation of education effectiveness based on student successes and social recognition.
Third, we commit ourselves to the development of international education that is inclusive of all ages. Rather than basing our educational ethos solely at the tertiary level, BFSU International combines the university’s academic pursuit and global perspectives with young learner education, initiating and implementing an inclusive education system ranging from K-12.
Fourth, we commit ourselves to the creation of a platform of international education by gathering educational teams and organizations who share our values and visions. Together, we will strive to form an interactive growth model which leads to the prosperity and diversity of international education.

Dr. Clarken is the Academic Principal of BFSU ICC. She was a post-doctoral fellow in linguistics of Michigan Institute of Technology and received her Bachelor’s Degree of international studies and Master’s Degree of English at Northern Michigan University. Once served as the director of the international English department of the Affiliated High School of Renmin University of China, she is familiar with A Level, AP, IB and other international high school curriculum systems. Dr. Clarken has rich English teaching experience and introduced the most cutting-edge language learning methods into the classroom to improve and expand students’ language ability, cultivating students to become more competitive for foreign universities admission. As a Doctor of Linguistics, she not only teaches languages, but also introduces western culture and history to her students, inspiring them to think and have a deeper and comprehensive understanding of foreign cultures.
馬迪 Mandy Ma
北京外國語大學國際課程中心學術副校長，A Level數學老師。哈佛大學教育學碩士，劍橋大學教育心理學碩士，劍橋大學數學與教育本科。大學期間，主要研究方向爲認知心理學及發展心理學，專注研究青少年元認知的發展及培養。“博採中心之所長，培養個性鮮明的國際精英”，藉助海外多年的學習工作經歷、A Level學習的親身經歷以及劍橋和哈佛學習教育理論的積累，立志於幫助每個孩子找到最合適他們的方向和學校，成就豐富多彩的個體。
Deputy Academic Principal of International Curriculum Center, BFSU; A Level math teacher. Master of Education from Harvard University, Master of Education and Psychology from Cambridge University, Bachelor of Mathematics with Education from Cambridge University. During university studies, my main research was in the field of cognitive psychology and developmental psychology, focusing on the development and cultivation of metacognition and executive functions in youth. I hope to take advantage of the best practices and educational ideologies in different countries and help our students to reach their fullest potential. With more than ten years of overseas studying and working experience, personal Cambridge IG and A Level learning experience, and educational theories learnt at Cambridge and Harvard, I aim to help each child find the most suitable university and major and become an independent, passionate and mature individual.
劉乙晨 Eilin Liu
Eilin Liu is the Director of Department of Study Abroad Counselling, BFSU ICC. She has more than 10 years of work experience in the field of study abroad counseling. Once served as the director of Counselling Office of the International Curriculum Center of the Affiliated High School of Renmin University of China, she has been one of the founders of the Counselling Office for many top high schools in China, including Shenzhen Foreign Languages School. Liu is also one of the first senior counsellors in China to provide admission planning for international school students of Chinese nationality, and one of the first Chinese counsellors who joined the International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC). In 2018, Liu was appointed by Cambridge Assessment International Education as a Member of the Cambridge School Community Board, part of the School Counsellors and Recognitions Community.
